The political debate over whether Lëvizja Vetëvendosje (VV) will support Vjosa Osmani for another presidential mandate continues to intensify. Amid growing speculation, senior Vetëvendosje figure Arbërie Nagavci addressed the issue publicly, offering a broader explanation of the party’s current position and internal discussions.
Speaking to reporters, Nagavci emphasized that no final decision has yet been taken, but confirmed that the matter is being seriously discussed within party structures. She stressed that Vetëvendosje approaches the presidency as an institution that must remain above daily political battles and serve the unity of the state. According to her, the party’s parliamentary group and leadership are evaluating all political circumstances before reaching a conclusion.
Nagavci underlined that Vetëvendosje’s priority remains institutional stability and respect for constitutional procedures. “Any decision we make will be in line with our principles and in the best interest of the Republic,” she said, adding that cooperation among political forces is essential to ensure a smooth electoral process for the head of state. She also pointed out that the presidency requires not only party backing but broader political consensus in the Assembly.
The issue has gained further attention due to ongoing negotiations and shifting alliances within Kosovo’s political landscape. Analysts note that Vetëvendosje holds a decisive role in determining the outcome, given its parliamentary strength. Whether the party formally endorses Osmani or seeks an alternative solution could significantly influence the balance of power in the coming months.
For now, Nagavci’s comments suggest a cautious and strategic approach rather than a rushed commitment. As consultations continue behind closed doors, political observers expect clearer signals in the days ahead, especially as the timeline for a potential presidential vote approaches.
